I started reading QuickSilver finally. So far it is very well done and I'm enjoying the style a lot. It took me a while to get past the present tense and the general wordiness, but now the whole book has grown on me. It's historical fiction, so definitely not up my normal route of books.

The book takes place in the 18th and 17th centuries and focuses on the development of the Royal Society. So basically, it centers on the developments of math and science in that time period. I'm a mathematician so it is right up my alley. :)

I am sick today. Being sick is not fun. But I suppose you all already knew that. I wrote a story to cheer myself up, but I haven't much energy to do anything else. Peter says I should take the time to read. He wants me to read Quicksilver and I still need to reread book six of Harry Potter. I am going crazy waiting for book seven at the same time as not wanting it to come out. I am particularly interested to see what happens with Draco and Snape. Are they redeemed? I sure hope so. I also want Viktor Krum to appear in the next book.

Some Ramblings In Order To Appear As Though I Am Posting Something

One of the things I appreciate about the Harry Potter books is that J. K. Rowling doesn't shy away from large words. It bothers me when I don't recognize the language used in a children's novel, but I'm still not convinced Harry Potter if for kids anyways. So yeah, it's not a bad thing. I means I have to pick up a dictionary and learn a few things.

One of my new goals, shall we name it 5,000,003, is to pick up a decent vocabulary. At the very least it will help out my GRE scores.
